My friend, Amber, from Alderwood Studio has released her book, Modern Heirloom Quilting! Amber was one of the first quilters I found on Quiltstagram (Quilty Instagram) and I just fell in love with all of her designs and her modern aesthetic. I was so honored to receive an advanced copy of her book to make one of the patterns for her release!
This book is truly beautiful and elegant and features so many unique designs. You can order your copy directly from Amber's website here. It's also available on Amazon. Keep scrolling to see which pattern I made from the book!
Desert Mirage
I made the Desert Mirage quilt in a throw size using Sprout Wovens from Tree House Quilting Co.
We all know that I love a pattern with curves! I love the simplicity of this design and it's such a quick make.
We had a sunny day here in Seattle, which is perfect for staged quilt photos in our living room, so I snapped a few pics before I finished up the binding on this one. Psst see my Modern Makes pillow there? It's a monthly membership Amber also offers! Check it out here.
Here is my finished Desert Mirage quilt. Amanda from Hither and Yon Quilting did a fantastic job using the Evenflow pantograph by Julie Hirt.

I can't wait to see all of the quilts you make with this incredible book!
